Paris birthday in French Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte
Our client from China decided to celebrate her birthday in Paris. She chose the best possible venue among the luxurious options that we offered. Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte is one of the most exclusive event venues in the world. It was constructed in 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, the superintendent of finances of Louis XIV.
The influence that this palace had on “Louis XIV” style is absolute. The inauguration of the Chateau was animated by a play that Moliere created for the occasion. An impressive firework show culminated the dinner and set the tone for all modern events taking place in Vaux-le-Vicomte. The lush gardens seem to be made for grand fireworks. Louis XIV was so impressed by the inauguration of the Chateau that seemed too lavish, too impressive, too luxurious that he had Fouquet arrested. Later he had the trio of the architect Louis Le Vau, the landscape architect André le Nôtre, and the painter-decorator Charles Le Brun, who created Vaux-le-Vicomte, start working on a much bigger project that is now known as the Palace and Gardens of Versailles.
Our client selected the Grand Salon for her birthday dinner. Grand Salon is a truly impressive room with marble floors, frescoed ceiling and five-meter tall windows overlooking the manicured gardens. The dinner was a work of art created by the chefs of Lenôtre. The guests were blown away by the menu created exclusively for this celebration infused with the tastes of France and China. Jazz band animated the evening that culminated with an impressive fireworks show in the best traditions of the Vaux-le-Vicomte inauguration dinner 355 years ago.
