Borgo Santandrea Amalfi
The hotel was built in the 1960s into the cliff just west of Amalfi, stepping down the rock to the sea, and it was restored from end to end and reopened in 2022. The restoration kept its mid-century lines and filled it with hand-made ceramic tiles, which run throughout the building.
Borgo Santandrea holds two Michelin Keys, the Guide’s distinction for hotels.
Its restaurant, Alici, holds a Michelin star in the 2026 guide, under chef Crescenzo Scotti, who cooks the Amalfi Coast and Naples along with his native Ischia on a terrace floored in blue majolica over the sea. The hotel also has Marinella for dinner, a restaurant at the beach club for lunch, and two bars, the Beach Bar and the Plumbago.
Below all of it is the reason people come: a private beach, one of the few on this coast.
Borgo Santandrea Wedding Venues
With the hotel taken, every part of it is the wedding’s, from the beach at the foot of the cliff to the terraces at the top.
The Private Beach and Beach Club
The beach club is on the hotel’s own shore at the foot of the cliff, with its loungers and umbrellas, its restaurant and its bar, and the water a few steps away. It is where the ceremony and the dinner belong. A wedding of up to 60 can take it without the rest of the hotel; above that, the hotel is taken whole.
It is an unusual setting for this coast: a ceremony and a dinner at sea level, on sand that belongs to the hotel, with the cliff and the hotel rising behind.
The whole hotel
For up to 100 guests, the wedding takes the whole property, all 52 rooms, and has the run of it, from its terraces to its restaurants and bars. In April, the first half of May and October the buy-out is for two nights at least. In summer the hotel offers it only on a few dates of its own choosing.
Alici and the terraces
On a buy-out the hotel’s restaurants and bars are the wedding’s too: Alici’s terrace over the sea on its blue majolica floor, Marinella, and the Plumbago Bar for the aperitif and the hours after dinner.
Accommodation at Borgo Santandrea
Fifty-two rooms and suites, and nine of them with a private pool. With the hotel taken for up to 100 guests, every one of them sleeps inside it.
The rooms run from courtyard doubles looking onto the terraced gardens, through superior and deluxe rooms facing the sea, to junior suites, corner suites and deluxe suites with terraces. At the top of the range are the pool suites: five deluxe suites with a private pool on the terrace, three premium pool suites with their own gardens and infinity pools, and a junior suite with a private infinity pool and a gazebo.
Every room has the hotel’s hand-made tiles underfoot, and staying guests have breakfast, the beach club, the pool and the fitness rooms included, with the spa alongside.
We allocate them with the couple rather than by rate. The pool suites go to the couple and the families, and the sea-view rooms to the friends who will be on the beach first in the morning.
Borgo Santandrea Location
Borgo Santandrea is on the coast road a few minutes west of Amalfi town, between Amalfi and Conca dei Marini, below the road and above its own beach. Amalfi’s harbour and cathedral are minutes away, Ravello about a quarter of an hour and Positano about half an hour.
By air
Naples Capodichino is the airport, an hour and a quarter on a clear road and closer to two hours in July and August. Salerno’s airport is about 45 minutes away. For American guests, connecting through Rome or Milan into Naples beats the four-hour drive from Rome Fiumicino.
By rail
Salerno station is about half an hour away and Napoli Centrale an hour, and both take the high-speed trains from Rome and Milan.
By sea
The hotel runs its own boats, and it is a hotel built at the water’s edge, so arriving by sea is the natural way in. A boat from Amalfi, Positano or Capri lands guests at the foot of the hotel, and on a wedding weekend a day on the water belongs in the plan.

Magic Day Insights
A hundred guests, and a hundred beds. Fifty-two rooms hold the whole wedding, which is the point of taking the hotel: nobody leaves the beach for a car, and the party ends with everyone a staircase from bed. We always build the room list with the couple before anything else here.
A private beach is rarer than it looks. A ceremony and a dinner on sand that belongs to the hotel, with nobody walking past, is something few venues on this coast can offer, and it is the reason to choose Borgo Santandrea over a terrace.
The sound problem is smaller here. Borgo Santandrea has its own stretch of shore below the road and nothing built above it. The midnight curfew still applies, but a party at the beach club is not overlooked by a town the way a terrace in Amalfi is.
The minimum spend is for the stay, not the wedding. The €120,000 is spent across the three days in the restaurants, the bars, the spa and on the boats, and the wedding dinner and any other group event are priced on top and do not count towards it. We leave the guests an evening to book Alici and Marinella themselves, which is how the minimum goes on dinners they would have chosen anyway.
A summer buy-out is a short list of dates. The hotel offers the whole property in summer only on a few weekends of its choosing, and April, May and October are easier. Couples who want July at Borgo Santandrea should ask for the date first and plan second.

INQUIREBorgo Santandrea Wedding Planner
The buy-out gives you a private beach, a starred kitchen and 52 rooms with every terrace in them. What it does not give you is the wedding: the design at the beach club, the flowers, the music, and the running of a day that happens at sea level under a cliff.
That is where a planner earns their place. A wedding for a hundred on a beach at the foot of a cliff is a production built by boat and by staircase, and the ceremony at the water only looks effortless when every step behind it was planned.

Common Questions
How much does a Borgo Santandrea wedding cost?
A Borgo Santandrea wedding with the whole hotel taken starts at €1.4 million and lands near €1.7 million all-in. The hotel itself is the largest part: three nights of all 52 rooms come to around €1.05 million, with €120,000 of minimum spends on food and drink, the spa and the boats, and the wedding events priced on top.
How many guests can attend a Borgo Santandrea wedding?
Up to 100 guests, which is the absolute maximum, with the whole hotel taken and every guest sleeping in it. A wedding of up to 60 can also take the beach club without the hotel; above 60, the hotel asks for all 52 rooms, for two nights at least in April, the first half of May and October, and in summer only on the few dates it will offer.
Can we marry legally at Borgo Santandrea?
Not at the hotel itself, which does not hold civil ceremonies. Italy places no residency requirement on foreign couples, so you can marry legally at Amalfi's town hall, with a nulla osta from your embassy, sworn translations and an interpreter, and then hold a symbolic ceremony at Borgo Santandrea, on the beach or on a terrace over it.
What is the music curfew at Borgo Santandrea?
Midnight, the hour the comune sets and the hotel keeps. Borgo Santandrea is better placed for sound than most venues on this coast: it has its own stretch of shore below the road and nothing built above it, so the party at the beach club is not overlooked by forty windows.
How many people can sleep at Borgo Santandrea?
Over a hundred, in 52 rooms and suites, nine of them with a private pool. With the hotel taken for a wedding of up to 100, every guest sleeps in it, and nobody needs a car at the end of the night.
Which airport serves Borgo Santandrea?
Naples Capodichino, an hour and a quarter on a clear road and closer to two hours in July and August. Salerno's airport is about 45 minutes away. For American guests, connecting through Rome or Milan into Naples beats the four-hour drive from Rome Fiumicino, and the hotel's own boats make the sea the easy way in.
When can we get married at Borgo Santandrea?
April to October, and it is a good season from end to end. A buy-out is easiest in April, the first half of May and October, when the hotel asks for two nights; in summer it offers the whole hotel only on a few dates of its choosing, so a July or August wedding starts with the hotel's calendar.
Do we need a wedding planner for Borgo Santandrea?
Yes. The buy-out gives you all 52 rooms, the private beach, the kitchens and every terrace, but the wedding itself is outside its figures: the design, the flowers, the music and the running of the day. Magic Day plans weddings at Borgo Santandrea from the first conversation to the final farewell.
