Giardini del Fuenti wedding

The Hotel Fuenti was 34,000 cubic metres of concrete built into the cliff between 1968 and 1971, and it was the first building in Italy to be called an ecomostro, an eco-monster. After thirty years of campaigning it was pulled down in 1999, and the gardens that replaced it are the venue now.

They step down the cliff in terraces to the sea, with a lemon grove, a rose terrace, an arena and a garden of modular pavilions, and below all of it a beach club on the shore. Where the hotel’s bulk stood there is now the one venue on the Amalfi Coast built for numbers.

The venue’s restaurant, Volta del Fuenti, holds a Michelin star, won in the 2025 guide and kept in 2026, under chef Michele De Blasio. He is the executive chef of the whole property, and the wedding kitchen is his: the banqueting is run in-house by his kitchen and service team.

Seven spaces, from a terrace for twenty to an arena for four hundred, and the venue holds only one event a week, so every one of them is the wedding’s.

The rose terrace over the Gulf of Salerno, and the ceremony. It holds civil and symbolic ceremonies for up to 250, which makes it the one place on this coast where a large wedding can marry legally at the venue where it dines.

The lemon grove and the garden each take a dinner for 300. The garden’s modular pavilions can take all 300 under cover, and the pool beside it can be covered to add more room.

The largest space, for 400, and the one that makes a wedding of this size possible on this coast at all.

A terrace under wisteria, for twenty. It suits an intimate symbolic ceremony, or the aperitif for the families before everyone else arrives.

The venue’s own beach club on the shore below the gardens, with its umbrellas and cabanas, for up to 200. It is the setting for the welcome drinks the evening before, or the long lunch the day after, and it can be taken privately for either.

A lounge bar cut into the rock, for the end of the night. The party moves down here before the 1am curfew, and if it rains, the Caveau takes the whole wedding up to 140, at no extra cost.

There are no bedrooms at Giardini del Fuenti, and that is the one real trade-off of the venue that takes the largest weddings on the coast.

The hotels are close, though. The five-star Hotel Raito is next door, a minute up the road, and Hotel Lloyd’s Baia and Relais Paradiso at Vietri sul Mare and the Albergo Cetus at Cetara are all within two kilometres. Salerno, fifteen minutes away, carries the overflow.

We split a large wedding across two or three of them by who needs to be where: the couple and the families at Raito, and the friends in Vietri, a short shuttle from the gate.

The venue is on the coast road between Cetara and Vietri sul Mare, at the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, where it meets Salerno. It is the least visited stretch of the coast and the only one near the motorway, and it is the reason a wedding of 150 is practical here at all.

Salerno’s airport is the nearest, about 25 minutes by road, and Naples Capodichino is just under an hour. For American guests, connecting through Rome or Milan into Naples works well from here, because nothing about the last leg touches the slow middle of the coast.

Salerno station, on the high-speed line from Rome and Milan, is a quarter of an hour away, which makes the train the simplest arrival of any venue on this coast.

There is parking for 250 cars on site, which on the Amalfi Coast is rare, and the venue is five minutes from Vietri and the motorway beyond it. The beach club below also makes the sea an easy way in, and a bride arriving by boat is a better entrance than one arriving down the road.

A wedding at Giardini del Fuenti is priced mostly through its menus, and the venue holds only one event a week, so the whole place is the wedding’s.

The chairs, the white linen, the plates, the cutlery and the glasses come with it, along with coordination on the day and the parking. For couples bringing their own caterer there is also a dry hire of every space and the kitchens, for sixteen hours.

The flowers, the lighting, the music and the design, which couples here are free to source from anyone, and a marquee if the weather turns on a wedding larger than the Caveau can take.

Above a hundred guests, this is the answer on this coast. The largest hotel we work with on the Amalfi Coast seats 100, and most stop at 60. A guest list of 150 has one real option on this stretch, and hearing that in the first month is worth more than any other advice.

Build the weekend at the eastern end. For our own wedding here, for 130, the welcome dinner was at a traditional restaurant in Salerno, the guests stayed at Raito and in Salerno, the day after there was a trip to Pompeii with lunch there, and the bride arrived by boat. The whole weekend never touched the slow middle of the coast road, and we would plan it the same way again.

A later night, and a room for its end. The music runs until 1am, an hour past most of this stretch of the coast, and the Caveau is where the last of it belongs. We design the evening to move down into the rock before the close, so the night ends in the room built for it rather than on a terrace.

Choose your own suppliers. Some venues on this coast send you to their own list. Here the florists, the musicians and the photographers are yours to choose, which at this size is the difference between a wedding assembled from a catalogue and one designed from the start.

Budget the rain plan above 140. The Caveau takes the whole wedding up to 140 at no extra cost if it rains. Above that, a marquee is on the couple, and we price it into the first budget rather than the last.

Giardini del Fuenti gives you the space for a large wedding, a starred kitchen, a later night than most of the coast and the freedom to choose everyone you work with. What it leaves to you is the scale: a wedding of 150 or 300 spread across four hotels, a shuttle plan, a design built from open suppliers, and a rain plan that may mean a marquee.

That is where a planner earns their place, and at this size it is most of the work.
