Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding

A hotel standing on the water at Tremezzina with Bellagio directly across the lake, a secular park behind it, a pool that floats on the water and 77 rooms and suites above it.

A Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding starts from €250,000, and for optimal results we recommend budgeting €350,000. There is no venue hire: each space is priced on its own, and a wedding day uses three, which comes to just under €19,000 of location fees before anyone eats.

Up to 100 guests, dinner at €400 a head, and an after-party room that holds 80.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Tremezzina

The hotel has stood on the water at Tremezzina since 1910, a wedding-cake facade of a building facing Bellagio across the narrowest part of the lake, with a secular park climbing the hill behind it.

It holds two Michelin Keys. La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi, its dining room, is the only restaurant in the world still serving the dishes of Gualtiero Marchesi, the first Italian chef to hold three Michelin stars, though the restaurant itself holds none today.

The floating pool on the lake is the thing people recognise. Villa Sola Cabiati, the eighteenth-century ducal villa five minutes along the shore, is also theirs and has a page of its own.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo Wedding Venue

The hotel does not sell itself whole. It sells rooms, one at a time, and a wedding is assembled from three or four of them.

The T Garden

In the middle of the park, where the welcome aperitif goes, from half past six until half past seven.

The Winter Garden

An art nouveau room with glass on three sides, and the dinner space. It is also the wet-weather alternative to every outdoor option here, which is worth knowing before it is booked for something else.

L'Escale Trattoria & Wine Bar

An old wine cellar under the hotel, and where the after party runs from eleven until one. It holds 80.

The Flowers Pool

A terrace above the water that can be taken privately from eight until eleven, for the rehearsal party the evening before.

The park and the floating pool

The park takes the ceremony, and the pool that sits out on the lake is where the photographs come from.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo Wedding Cost

A Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding starts from €250,000, and for optimal results we recommend budgeting €350,000, for 80 to 100 guests.

The spaces

Each carries its own fee, plus 10% VAT:

Space What for Fee
T Garden Welcome aperitif, 6.30 to 7.30pm €6,000
Winter Garden Seated dinner, 7.30 to 11pm €6,000
L’Escale After party, 11pm to 1am, max 80 €5,000
Flowers Pool Rehearsal cocktail, 8 to 11pm €10,000

A wedding day uses the first three, which is €17,000, or just under €19,000 once VAT is on it. Add the rehearsal party and it is just under €31,000.

The food

Dinner is €400 per guest. That covers the aperitif canapés and drinks, a starter, a first course, a main, a sorbet and the wedding cake.

Wine is separate, from €50 a head for half a bottle and water, and the open bar at the after party is from €70 a head per hour. The rehearsal options are from €200 a head standing, or €250 seated for the pizza dinner in the garden.

At a hundred guests that is €45,000 for the dinner and the wine before the bar opens, which is the largest single line in the budget and nearly three times the location fees.

What sits outside it

Lighting, which the hotel requires you to bring an outside vendor for on any outdoor event. Flowers, the same. Music beyond background speakers. Photography, the rooms, and the transfers.

Vendors agree their access times in advance, the Flowers Pool can be set up from six, and every supplier clears their own equipment at the end of the night.

Ten O'Clock, and Eighty Seats

Two numbers decide the shape of the evening here, and neither is the price.

The outdoor music stops at ten

Music is permitted outdoors until ten at night. Between ten and eleven only soft background music is allowed anywhere outside, and that is the end of it.

This is among the earliest outdoor curfews on the lake, and it is why the hotel’s own document moves the party indoors at eleven rather than offering to extend the garden. The hotel will provide speakers for background music; a band or a DJ comes from outside and plays inside.

L'Escale holds 80

The wedding document is written for up to a hundred guests. The after-party room holds 80.

That gap is the single most practical thing on this page. A hundred people sit down to dinner at half past seven, and at eleven o’clock twenty of them have nowhere to be. There is no second after-party room in the pack, so the options are to hold the guest list at 80, to accept that the older half of the room will go to bed, or to find somewhere else at eleven on a shore road that is dark and narrow.

Accommodation at Grand Hotel Tremezzo

Seventy-seven rooms and suites, including rooftop suites with their own terraces and outdoor jacuzzis.

On paper that is enough to sleep a hundred-guest wedding. In practice the pack publishes no wedding allotment and guarantees no block, so what is actually released for a Saturday in June is a negotiation rather than a number, and we settle it before a date is held rather than after.

Villa Sola Cabiati, the hotel’s own eighteenth-century villa five minutes along the shore, adds six bedrooms and can be taken with the wedding.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo Location, Lake Como

The hotel is on the Via Statale at Tremezzina, on the western shore where the lake is at its narrowest, directly opposite Bellagio.

Bellagio is 19 minutes by road and a few by water. Varenna is 31.

Getting guests there

Milan Malpensa is an hour and 18 minutes by road, Linate an hour and 26 and Bergamo an hour and 42. Lugano across the Swiss border is 55 minutes.

Como is 37 minutes, along the Via Regina, which is one lane each way through every village and slow from June onwards. For anyone staying towards Como, the boat is the better arrival.

Magic Day Insights

Hold the guest list at eighty.

The hotel will write you a wedding for a hundred, and the after-party room holds 80, so a hundred-guest wedding has a problem at eleven o’clock that no amount of budget fixes. We always put that number in front of a couple before the deposit, because at 80 everything here works in one sequence from the garden to the Winter Garden to the cellar, and at 100 the evening breaks in half.

The second thing is that the absence of a venue hire cuts both ways. There is no five-figure fee to clear before you start, which makes a small wedding here genuinely affordable, and there is also no package: three spaces, three fees, and a hotel still trading around you with other guests in the restaurant. Couples who want the place to themselves want a villa.

The third is that €400 a head is the number to look at, not the location fees. It is the highest published per-head figure on our Lake Como list, and at a hundred guests the food and wine come to nearly three times what the rooms cost to hire. Any conversation about trimming this budget starts there, and the honest answer is usually to move the headcount rather than the menu.

Then there is the Winter Garden, which is both the dinner room and the wet-weather plan for everything else. On a forecast-dependent day it cannot be two things at once, and a hundred guests moving indoors at seven need the room that is already laid for them. We plan the rain option as a real decision at 24 hours rather than as a line in the contract.

Common Questions

How much does a Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding cost?

A Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding starts from €250,000, and for optimal results we recommend budgeting €350,000. There is no single venue hire: the aperitif garden is €6,000, the Winter Garden for dinner €6,000 and the after-party room €5,000, which is just under €19,000 with VAT. Dinner is €400 a guest before the wine package at €50 and the open bar at €70 an hour, so the food and drink at a hundred guests is more than the rooms.

How many guests can attend a Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding?

A hundred guests, which is what the 2026 wedding document is written for. The number to plan around is a different one: L'Escale, the wine bar where the after party happens, holds 80. A wedding at the ceiling therefore has twenty people with nowhere to go at eleven o'clock, and we would rather hold the list at 80 than solve that on the night.

Can we marry legally at Grand Hotel Tremezzo?

A symbolic ceremony is what happens here. Italy allows a civil ceremony only where the commune has authorised the site, so couples complete the legal marriage at home or at a Lake Como town hall beforehand, and the ceremony itself goes in the park or the garden.

What is the music curfew at Grand Hotel Tremezzo?

Ten at night outdoors, and between ten and eleven only soft background music is permitted anywhere outside. That makes the outdoor curfew among the earliest on this lake, and it is the reason the evening is built to move indoors: the after party runs in the wine bar from eleven until one. The hotel can provide speakers for background music, and anything beyond that comes from an outside supplier.

How many people can sleep at Grand Hotel Tremezzo?

Seventy-seven rooms and suites, which on paper is enough for a hundred guests. The pack does not publish a wedding allotment or guarantee a block, so the number actually released for your dates is negotiated rather than given, and we settle it before the date is held. Villa Sola Cabiati, the hotel's own villa along the shore, adds six bedrooms.

Which airport do guests fly into for Grand Hotel Tremezzo?

Milan Malpensa, an hour and 18 minutes by road, which is the airport to name on the invitation. Linate is an hour and 26 and Bergamo an hour and 42, while Lugano across the Swiss border is 55 minutes. Bellagio is 19 minutes by road and a few by water.

When is the best time of year for a Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding?

June or September. The hotel faces east across the lake, so the evening light goes off the facade early and lands on Bellagio opposite, which is what the terrace is looking at through dinner. Those two months give the longest usable evening before the ten o'clock outdoor curfew.
